Travel Tips

Always place the cake box(es) on carpet foam or a non-skid mat on a level surface in the vehicle to prevent shifting. Keep the boxes flat; never place on a slanted car seat. Boxed cakes can also be transported in the trunk of the car in cool weather (air conditioning will not reach the trunk area).

  • Whether we’re bringing the cake to your celebration, or you’re picking it up yourself, it’s important to find out about the party location before the event. Knowing what conditions to expect when you arrive can make the delivery and setup much easier. Find out what is the best location for bringing the cake into the building. That way you can park near that entrance the first time and minimize the distance that the cake has to travel from the car. Also ask how far in advance the cake can be set up so that you can plan your day accordingly.
  • Make sure that your cake table is level before placing the cake on the table.
  • Heat can melt icing and cause decorations to droop, so keep your decorated cake as cool as possible, and away from direct sunlight. Fluorescent lighting and sunlight can both cause fading of some icing colors, so consider keeping your cake covered before the start of your event.
